The Big Give
Big Give 2019 is coming on MARCH 28! Big Give is South Central Texas’ 24-hour online giving event in support of the nonprofit agencies who help make this community such a great place to live.
Who we Are?
San Antonio Threads provided complete brand new outfits, shoes, & more for 1,679 at risk teens in 2018. We are the only nonprofit in bexar county providing this program benefiting our teens in foster care, transitioned out of foster care, homeless & the many other at risk teens attending our schools in SA. In October 2018 we started traveling to South Side ISD & Edgewood ISD, to set up pop- up shops and address the clothing needs of our students attending school.
Our nonprofit is set up like a clothing store, with fitting rooms, mannequins, & Volunteer Stylists that assist our youth in finding their sizes and unique style. All the clothing & shoes the youth select from are brand new with the tickets attached. All referred youth choose 2 brand new complete outfits, essentials, personal care, jacket, backpack & more for FREE, twice a year!
Every youth writes a note after shopping, answering the question : What do new clothes mean to you ? ” These clothes mean a lot, due to the fact that I don’t have anything. I can also be warm with my new beautiful coat.” ” I feel better about myself and I feel like I can go places.”, ” New clothes means to me that there are people in the world that help other kids and adults to have a better life.”
